We’d like to invite you to join artists all around the world on Saturday, August 29th, for our 2020 Grand Prix: International Paint In-Place plein air painting challenge!  Although we won’t all be able to gather and paint in Steveston as usual this year, we’re going to take this as an opportunity to share our event with artists in all parts of the globe.  Please share this email with your artist friends!

On Saturday morning set yourself up to paint for three hours wherever you are in the world, and when your time’s up take a photo of your painting on location and your final cropped artwork and share them on Instagram using the hashtag #grandprixofart2020 by midnight for a chance to win prizes and bragging rights.  If you’re not on social media, you can email your images to grandprixofart@gmail.com and we will add it to the Grand Prix: Paint In-Place Gallery.  When you submit your photos please let us know if you are a Professional Artist (Masters Category), Amateur (Open Category) or Youth (under 18 years of age).  We are super excited to see all of the places in the world our submissions come from, so please give us some background on your specific location!   Although you do not need to register to participate in this global event we are happy to feature you and your work on our event Web site, but you will need to pre register for that –  read more here.

Some of our regular Grand Prix of Art participants will be joining us to paint at our traditional host location at Steveston’s Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site on the morning of August 29th.  You can follow us on Instagram at @GrandPrixofArt, @Travellingbrush or @PhoenixArtWorkshop as we live-stream these artists painting on location this year!

Help support the event by purchasing a commemorative Grand Prix of Art 2020 t-shirt, baseball hat, or tote bag!  order

Thank you – see you all virtually on the 29th of August!
