The 8th annual Grand Prix of Art Steveston, was a huge success this year!  Precarious weather in the forecast to say the least, was not looking encouraging  at 5am starting set up in the driving rain and down right discouraging when our tent rental company arrived two hours late.  In spite of the bleak outlook our volunteers pulled together, worked their tails off and kept the event on schedule, so an massive thank you goes out to each and every one!  I am convinced the good Karma of all involved the art gods had no choice but to bless us with sunshine and just as artists began to arrive at check-in blue skies broke though the rain clouds and by the start of the painting challenge …. sunshine!

117 artist registered, dispatched to 40 different painting locations from London Landing to Garry Point Park and with just 3 hours to complete a work of art on location, returned to Britannia Shipyards national Historic Site with some of the most impressive paintings ever submitted for adjudication.  The judging was not easy but at the end of the day these where the big winners of the event this year.
