We are thrilled to announce that the countdown to the 14th annual Grand Prix of Art has begun! Taking place in the picturesque Japanese Fishing Village of Steveston, this renowned outdoor painting challenge promises to be a highlight of the year for artists and spectators alike. This year we are celebrating various activities and workshop in what we have branded as Champions Week.
Event Highlights:
- Artistic Competition: Witness 150 artists race against the clock to capture the essence of Steveston’s scenic beauty on canvas and paper. The competition will showcase a diverse range of styles and perspectives, making it a must-see for art lovers.
- Festival Atmosphere: Enjoy live music performances, indulge in delicious offerings from food trucks, and explore the “Made By Hand” Artist Market featuring 30 unique artisans. Don’t miss the opportunity to create your own hand-printed masterpiece at the Phoenix Art workshop tent.
- Champions Week: Leading up to the main event, join us for Champions Week—a week dedicated to inspiration and education. Participate in workshops led by past event champions Broderick Wong, James Koll, and Moe Khaleel, designed to enhance your painting skills and techniques.

- People’s Choice Award: Join us on Sunday, July 28, at the Exhibition Space for a final salute to the beautiful works created over the weekend. Enjoy live music from Murphy and the Cats, final acknowledgements, and the presentation of the much-coveted People’s Choice Award at 3:30pm.
