The 14th Annual Grand Prix of Art may be two weeks behind us, but the celebration of artists and creativity continues. The remarkable creativity of the event, and hard work of our behind-the-scenes volunteers were beautifully captured by a special group of photographers from the Richmond Photo Club.
The Grand Prix of Art and the Richmond Photo Club share a unique history, dating back to the early years of the event when we first invited photographers to participate. The response has always been incredible. Each year, the Richmond Photo Club volunteers their time and expertise, capturing the essence of the event. The Richmond Photo Club has consistently supported the Grand Prix of Art, preserving images, memories, and community engagement through their lens.
I would like to take a moment to recognize the Richmond Photo Club, which aims to foster and promote interest, participation, and improvement in photography within Richmond and surrounding areas. Their activities include:
- Regular meetings with evaluations and critiques of members’ photographs
- Guest speakers and workshops
- Field trips
- Public exhibitions of photography
- Sponsoring inter-club photographic competitions
- Participating in local, national, and international competitions
- Engaging in community-based activities requiring a photographic record
- Encouraging members to become qualified judges and volunteer their services
- Providing guest speakers for other organizations
Please take a moment to check out the highlights from this year’s event. You can view the previously posted photo albums by individual photographers to see their wonderful work.
